The mission of the Services to Youth facet is to assist young people, especially those from unusual circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive and contributing members of society. The threads of good citizenship run throughout the services provided to youth and include moral values, healthy living, community and civic development, cultural and aesthetic development and an appreciation of positive self-identity.
● Get Linked STEM Academy: a program presented by The Greater Miami Chapter of The Links, Inc. providing thirty 8th - 10th grade students from the various target urban areas (TUAs) in Miami-Dade County with the opportunity to advance their understanding of the educational and career opportunities available in STEM related industries. ● Reading Pals Program: Volunteers visit local elementary schools and participate in interactive reading sessions to promote childhood literacy.
● Healthy Child Program: Sponsors Healthy Eating workshops at local elementary school, Linda Lentin K-8 Center, Scott Lake Elementary, and Williams Park to address healthy food choices and the importance of physical activity. This program goal is educate children about healthy eating habits and ways to decrease childhood obesity.
